EVENTS

Whenever there is an event of astronomical importance, we will organise a viewing evening for the general public or even a trip away to a site that is regarded as the one offering optimal advantages for the best viewing.

Proposed Berg weekends for Viewing

February - 4th to 6th - new moon on the 3rd
March - 4th to 6th
April - 1st to 3rd
Also April 30th Karoo Star Party
May - 6th to 8th - new moon on the 3rd (there is a Karroo Star Party, so we will give this one a miss)
June - 3rd to 5th - new moon on the 1st
July - 1st to 3rd

August - 26th to 28th - new moon on the 29th - ASSA Star Party in Aug - no away trip
September - 23rd to 25th - new moon on 27th
October - 28th - 30th - new moon on the 26th
November - 25th to 27th
December - 23rd to 25th

Star Parties

The next event is the Karoo Star Party - April 29th to May 2nd.

Sutherland - SALT

In April 2009 we went on a wonderful trip to Sutherland to visit the South African Large Telescope (SALT)
